For the past couple of years, XPM and our non-profit Puente de Conexión, have been working on fundraisers for the reef restoration projects here in town with the Puerto Morelos Reef National Park. Local businesses including La Sirena, El Pirata, Lighthouse Tours, Layla, Tulipan, Maiz Maix, and Your Alibi have all generously hosted events and donated to the cause, as well as receiving donations from our followers. This culminated in the donation of $100,000 MXN in February 2025 towards the coral nurseries that National Park staff and the Reef Guardians have been growing.
Since then, the XPM and Conexión team has met with representatives from the National Park, as well as local organizations We Love the Sea, The Reef Rescue School, Lighthouse Tours, and Wet Set Diving Adventures to begin working on a campaign to educate visitors and locals about the importance of preserving the reef, the mangrove, and the cenotes, as well as small steps that we can take as individuals to make a difference. Afterall, we are home to the world’s 2nd largest reef and all of us are responsible to take care of it and ensure that our behavior isn’t harming it.

Durante los últimos años, XPM y nuestro ONG Puente de Conexión, hemos estado trabajando en recaudaciones de fondos para los proyectos de restauración del arrecife aquí en el pueblo, en colaboración con el Parque Nacional Arrecife de Puerto Morelos. Negocios locales como La Sirena, El Pirata, Lighthouse Tours, Layla, Tulipán, Maíz Maix y Your Alibi han sido generosos al organizar eventos y hacer donaciones para la causa, además de recibir contribuciones de nuestros seguidores. Todo esto culminó en la donación de $100,000 MXN en febrero de 2025 para apoyar los viveros de coral que el personal del Parque Nacional y los Guardianes del Arrecife han estado cultivando.
